About the Dancing Moose Café

Formerly the Silver Gull Gift shop, Ton and Yvonne Megens bought and established a new business in early 2011. The Café eventually opened up as the “The Dancing Moose Café” in July of 2012. Serving Breakfast, lunch and afternoon treats, hosting locals and visitors. 

Over the winter off 2012 the Sleeping Moose Cottage was created and began offering its cozy beds and fireplace to travelers enjoying the Cabot Trail. In 2013 the first two Zzzz Moose Camping Cabins where built, with another two ready to rent by adventurous locals and tourists by the summer of 2016.

Ton & Yvonne Megens, Owners

Ton and Yvonne, both Dutch and both with a healthcare background, visited Cape Breton October 2006 for a vacation and to find out what the opportunities would be to make a living in Nova Scotia. After spending a night in the former 'Goodwill House B&B' they where asked if they would be interested in managing that B&B for a year. A spontaneous decision was made and half a year later they packed up part off there belongings, two boys (aged 9 and 11), a cat and LOTS off Lego and left for Cape Breton, Nova Scotia. The rest is history!
